A global leader in the design and manufacture of material handling attachments for highly diverse applications. Their customer base is broad and includes those with industrial truck, rough terrain, construction and agricultural equipment applications. Looking to hire a Product Design Engineer for their Upstate South Carolina location. 

Develop and design mast, carriage and attachment assemblies for the material-handling industry utilizing practical engineering methods and techniques to meet and exceed customer applications.
·        Evaluate internal and external customer requirements, generate 3D CAD models, and create 2D prints using appropriate GD&T schemes for prototype and production projects
·        Perform structural analysis using classical methods and verify concepts with FEA simulations
·        Interpret FEA simulation and or physical stress/strain test results and generate solutions to prevent product failures
·        Follow departmental procedures to push and officially release product design data for purchasing and manufacturing use
·        Benchmark competitive product applications, document findings and recommend best practices
·        Communicate directly with customers to clearly define/document technical interface and product requirements
·        Own projects from conception through production (Cradle to grave)
·        Collaborate with various teams within the organization to solve technical problems and identify improvement opportunities
·        Lead or support quality concern root cause analysis, correct action and solution verification
·        Adhere to company safety procedures and 5S housekeeping policies
·        Train others as assigned
·        Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
·        Three or more years of material handling or heavy equipment component/product design experience
·        Hydraulic valve, hose, fitting and cylinder design experience   
·        Proficient with 3D modeling of complex assemblies, product configuration, routing programs, PDM software, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
·        Ability to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required
Preferred Qualifications:
·        Three or more years of material handling or heavy equipment component/product design experience
·        “Hands-on” mechanically inclined and enjoys working with all levels of manufacturing employees
·        Three or more years of experience using SolidWorks CAD and Vault PDM to generate complex designs
         Confident, articulate, and professional communication abilities (Written and verbal)
